We can ask, and are trained to ask: "How will preboarding assist you?" Every so often, the answer is: because we want to sit together
Sometimes there are interesting answers. That is why I LUV my job, everyday is new adventure
The answer will determine whether or not a "blue sleeve" is issued. "Blue Sleeves" are only for disabled passengers. Passengers that just need extra time down the jetway are just given complimentary preboarding (like the sweet 91 year old woman that I had today, who just needed some extra time).
