Me again...we're flying ATL to FCO in September. At the time of booking there were no tickets available for upgrade using miles, so I called and Delta put me on a waitlist. Right now there are still 10 seats available in Delta One, but it's still over 60 days out. My husband and I are on the same PNR ( no status, although he's approaching Silver). Right now, I'm wondering if being on the same PNR will hurt our chances of getting chosen off the waitlist? If they only open one seat for upgrading with miles, then I'm thinking they'd pass us over since we're together and that I should call and have them split us up? But I've read enough to know there's probably a lot I don't know, and I'm wondering what downsides there might be to splitting it? Again, we have no status, so we'd not be losing any of those perks. The only thing I can think of would be a flight delay/change and being split might mean we'd get separated? Anything else to consider?
