That is becuase European airports have sensible security rules. No laptops out of the bag either.

Looks like the FSD is making up rules at LAX now too. I've never been asked to remove shoes in T4 or TBIT, and these are definately thick soled tennis shoes. I'll find out next weekend if this has changed for me as I will be in/out of TBIT and T4.

I'm waiting for someone to use a butt-plug bomb. Then, we will all have to have cavity searches before flying.
