The idea for the Sunday morning was that everyone could go at their own pace without any formal structure and to this end we were each provided with a coupon that covered the cost (including a generous 25% tip!) for the standard Marriott buffet breakfast. Breakfast was great and we saw a few people dotted around the place.
We left about 9:30am and were back in Tampa for lunch and an afternoon by the pool.
This was a terrific event and one that I'm really glad we had the opportunity to attend.
I can vouch that every word in this trip report is true if perhaps a bit understated. For those eligible for these Chase BA trips--and not all of them involve golf--my experience and this trip report should convince you to consider spending some of your accumulated Avios on a future trip. For less than the cost of an award for a one-way TATL First flight, lasting no more than 8 hours, two of us were able to enjoy 48 hours of pampering with lodging, golf, food, and drink provided. In addition, I learned that Chase had arranged for a very generous base tip schedule for the folks who served us, which guaranteed that we received excellent, enthusiastic service from the time we entered the Marriott Sawgrass to the moment we left. Although I am sure there are some deals to be had if you know where to look or the people to ask, I estimated the reasonable value of this trip at around $2000.
And a weekend socializing with a congenial fellow Flyertalker was surely icing on the cake. I'm still trying to figure out how he arranged for me to make the longest putt and for my friend to hit the ball closest to the pin--I assure you our skill was not a factor!
