IIRC, A few day after they officially welcomed the CRJs at Entebbe, the plane(s) was(were) sent to various African countries (or destinations?), incl Cape Town & Jo'burg.
Not sure why as I did not pay to much attention on that at this time though...
The aircraft title remains with Bombardier and they were using it as a demonstration model. Uganda Airlines was not involved in that at all (crew were Bombardier, events were Bombardier hosted, etc...)
