That's not counting whatever bonus points you'd earn based on your status (e.g., if you are Gold, you'd earn 300 X 10 = 3,000 base points, plus 1,500 bonus points as 50% on base points for the "points and points" option (in lieu of airline miles), plus 750 bonus points as 25% on base points as Gold, for the total of 5,250 points).
Thanks for clearing up the confusion. I think I will switch to the points and points. I have a week stay in Mission Valley that will be over 700.00 so it should add up
