Especially if you travel from SIN in Y to various locations here in SEA/Asia it's sometimes a very poor experience. The SQ service level fluctuates a lot from crew to crew nowadays and if you have the pleasure of flying their old A330 or 777-2 in Y, it's definitely not an experience you would expect from the world's best airline. Most of the time the smile on their face is so artificial that I might prefer the honesty of some Western crews. I also fully agree with the criticism of their lounges in SIN. They are simply outdated, both in T2 and T3. If you are used to new LH or LX lounges in FRA/MUC/ZRH you know what I mean... IMO the high price premium for flying Y on SQ to various destinations here in Asia is very difficult to justify.

However, I also have to admit that I made some very nice experiences in C on their new A350/A380 and that was definitely top-notch and not many airlines are able to offer a similar product in C, maybe in F... To put it in a nutshell, SQ is not always top or flop and there is definitely room for improvement in many areas. They are better in some categories but also struggle here and there. We all know that there will never be an airline that meet all our expectations!
