Hi all, got it sorted. Was actually a Fiji award but eventually AA allowed me to join the call-back queue and I got this handled. I tried about 5 times yesterday and today before even being allowed to join the queue. Ridiculous this can't be managed online, although I know lots of other airlines are like that.

It is good to know about the Twitter option too, and also the fact that partner awards can be placed on hold, possibly with some exceptions.
