I would put it bluntly here. As an ex-CTA regular, I wouldn't do it.

Go to Syracusa and stay overnight as suggested earlier. It's pretty nice out there, and there are some very nice restaurants along the coast.

Not staying overnight would be such a waste, but the serial inefficiency and potentially extremely slow-moving queues mean the risk of back-to-back is too high.

Or even landside, until you leave the airport (Actually the pizza place landside isn't *that* bad).
