Elite benefit guarantees applications
Dear all,
I would like to know your experiences with elite benefit guarantees with Marriott.
Some of the terms are quite explicit, such as the Ultimate Rsvn Guarantee and Room Type Guarantee.
But many are worded in a way that is rather murky way, for example, the welcome gift guarantee, there is no clear definition of when "time of arrival" is, and hence when will compensation apply.
Recently, I had a stay where the hotel did not offer me a choice of Plat elite welcome gift at check-in, and I also only remembered that on my second night. I then sent a message to the hotel and later resolved with the Bonvoy Connector at the hotel to reduce 50USD off my bill (it's an FP Sheraton). I have also heard stories that some hotel have zero compliance to the guarantees laid out by Marriott. I am hoping to see if anyone else here had launched a compensation claim for one of the guarantees and how it was resolved in your cases. I would really like to gather some data points on this.
