I actually moved on from this thread before remembering this.

I am doing the ICBG Summer Passport, and two of the brewpubs on its roster are in Rosemont and Schiller Park:

Short Fuse Brwg.
- Hofbräuhaus Chicago

You can get a train and a bus to these venues during daylight hours. The "L" train to Rosemont, and any number of Pace routes south on River Rd. {But Short Fuse is closed on Monday.}
