I used to joke that I was glad my employer wasn’t building software for aircraft because I, knowing how the sausage was made at this particular company, would never be able to fly again. I have to admit my trust in Boeing being better/different is somewhat shaken.

That said, $9/hr * 40 hrs * 50 weeks amounts to $18k a year. I don’t think they would be allowed to hire H1Bs for that amount.
