What's been the issue with renting directly from Mercedes? Just go to mieten.mercedes-benz.de, and book what you want. I can't imagine they'd be substituting a BMW or Audi... Is the issue that the site is only in German? If so, PM me, and I can help you out.

If that won't work, maybe book reservations with two companies (Sixt and one other), then, try Sixt first, and if they don't have an MB, then head over to Hertz. Does it have to be an A/GLA, or does it just have to be an MB?

Also, are you renting from an airport or a local/train station location? The former's going to have a much better selection.
