OK, but were you happy with the hotel where you did stay and how did its price and perks compare to what you had reserved through FHR?
It might be fun to name the hotel and so that we can check back in a year to see whether the hotel is still part of FHR. I'm very suspicious about the "didn't receive the reservation" story.
