Just speculation, but given the continuing delays in the 737Max entry to service (first AS Max was originally supposed to fly in July, IIRC), I could understand if AS chose to suspend cabin mods during the peak of the summer season. It also seems like the last two A321neos are taking quite a while to get ready for service, so that could result in fewer airframes in service than anticipated.
