wanting to switch tomorrow evening's DCA-JFK-SEA to DCA-ATL-SEA (multiple reasons that I don't care about the miles, mainly that I'll get home ~2300 rather than ~0130) ... at T-24:05 the app and website both show about 20 options (of which only four or five are viable time-wise), but at T-23:59 the "Change Flight" button on the app only offers departures at 0600 and 0700
at T-23:58 I call the PM line ... I'm on hold for maybe a minute; the agent sees the flights I want (2+15 layover in ATL for a visit to OFS), but says she can't sell 'em as married segments ... I ask for a supervisor; the transfer takes about a minute ... he clicks a couple times, mumbles something, clicks a couple more times, and says "Ok, it'll be a minute or two"; about nine seconds later I hear "All agents are assisting other customers. You will be connected to the next available agent."
I refresh the screen as soon as I hear the recording, and of course the website now shows no F seats on those flights
a minute or so later another agent comes on the line; I ask if he has my PNR up and he says "No, the first agent didn't transfer it" ... I give him the PNR, tell him the flights, he clicks a couple times, and says "You just got the last First Class seat on both those flights."
I need a beer ... or maybe two
