I’ve been here almost a year and have only used AUS once. SAT is usually comparable in price (or the price difference isn’t enough to justify trekking up to AUS) and flight times are about the same and I usually still have to connect. And usually the GSA Contract Carrier is the same, or at least it’s still not DL for where I need to go even if I go out of AUS so I usually just opt for SAT.

But I am using AUS in September. Just booked one of the final AA MD-80 flights on Sept 4 and the SAT-DFW MD-80 flight that morning was super expensive so instead I found a really cheap F fare on CVG-DFW-AUS to be on one of the final MD-80 flights that day. I’ll just have to position up to CVG the evening before but I’ll make it a mini-mileage run on DL to get up there and check out the new AUS SkyClub.
