Interlining Lufthansa - South African ?

Hi

Am normally a OneWorld user but am switching to Star Alliance (specifically Lufthansa) to travel to South Africa in August as the prices were ridiculously cheap.

My question is : can I interline JNB-CPT and back to connect with my LH flights to/from Frankfurt? Or do I have to go out and check in again? My ticket at the minute is LHR-FRA-JNB return but my first port of call is CPT, so was planning to just buy an internal flight on SAA but don't know how much time I need to leave.

I only ask because wonderful BA decided to stop allowing you to do this a couple of years ago and I got badly burned coming back JFK-LHR-DXB on separate tickets.

Thanks!
