OK, as promised a few comments on the Porter Hotel.
Booked a King Room (Park and Stay rate) for $239 per night excluding taxes. Got upgraded to a King Corner City View on the 7th floor.
The room is spacious and modern and features a safe, fridge (minibar), a sofa and large windows.
What we liked about the property:
- The check-in lady and bar staff were very friendly
- The room was clean and large
- The lobby and bar area are stylish
- The pool area with sauna, steam room and outdoor seating was very good. The bathrobes provided in the room very very fluffy.
- The bar is really good
What we didn’t like about the property:
- Breakfast is advertised as complimentary in the App, yet as Diamond you get a $15 credit per person (max. $30 for a party of 2) which didn’t cover our breakfast (coffee + food each).
- Housekeeping was not done at 4pm when we returned from a full day outside which I found disappointing and annoying.
- The rooftop bar closed at 6pm (!) on Sunday and was closed on Monday altogether.
