Those protection benefits from Citi is the main reason I use their cards. Price Rewind has been great (their policy is more flexible than Chase, which exclude lower price through discount codes) and I've used purchase protection and extended warranty a few times. I've been lucky enough to never need to use travel protections, but it's great to know that they are there (especially the very broad covered reasons of trip cancellation on the Prestige). I plan on keeping the Prestige since the effective AMF is only $100, but I'll probably get a CSR and move all non-hotel travel there.

My understanding of the following is that these benefits will continue to apply after the card is cancelled:

These benefits do not apply if Your card privileges have been cancelled. However, benefits will still apply for any benefit You were eligible for prior to the date that Your account is suspended or cancelled, subject to the terms and conditions of coverage.
Both guides of the Prestige (p.43) and Premier (p.33) have the same language.
