Very rare. They typically offer some form of medical repatriation which involves paying for a one-way ticket home. That can be a significant benefit given the cost of last minute tickets from some locations, but it is not the $120-150K which a Medevac from South America to the US may well cost.

I advise reading the policy terms word-for-word. Does the policy really provide transport home or is it to the nearest facility capable of handling the issue? The latter may be life-saving, but still a financial burden for many.
