Sadly, it is not just KLM that has these silly ideas. LH and Swiss have both prostituted themsevles in response to the threat of the budget airlines. BA (and I belive BMI) OHOH has done the opposite (and sometimes with incredibly low fairs). Guess who has the best bottom line!
As for lounges, I'm starting to have reservations about anywhere populated by people who think its a good idea to drink alchol at 7am!
