I have limited international experience and a question about when checked bags will be accessible. This is a two employer back to back trip. Employer 1 has booked the following all with Delta.
Trip one:
HNL-DSS (with connections)
Work in DSS
DSS-CGD-ATL-BTR

Employer 2 trip (unbooked at this time) will either be:
BTR-HNL (with connections)
or
ATL-BTR
(work)
BTR-HNL (with connections)

I am considering an overnight in ATL and flying to BTR the next day. Either will work with the jobs. If Employer 1 can't adjust the ticket to fly me to BTR the next day, and I bail at ATL (before the last leg of that trip), will I have access to a checked bag through any kind of customs check?
