So my parents and their friends are going to Hawaii in September and decided to sign up for the Alaska Visa to receive the companion fare. They also would prefer to split up the 13-15 hour trip from New York with an overnight on the west coast. If i look on AlaskaAir.com there are a few itineraries that will arrive at night and leave the next morning. Their friends want to do a quick tour somewhere like SFO or SEA. I found a flight using Kayak that arrives in SFO 2-3pm on day 1 and then connects to a flight to KOA the following morning. Kayak will take me to the Alaska website to book but I can't put in the companion fare code and it doesn't show up as an option on alaskaair.com. Will an agent do it for me over the phone or is there a better way. to do this online. Also to confirm there is no way to use the tickets on an AS/AA connection itin? (they asked, I told them it has to be on AS but just want to be sure).
