There is no one more North of England than me! But yes, use this forum to get informed, and check the other forums too. Not all those airlines on your list offer a Premium Economy product and some like Cathay are rolling their product out on selected routes. But if you use mainland Chinese airlines in particular you may be able to get business class for quite a competitive price.
Shanghai is a route that we will be using frequently for the company from now on so i'm going to be busy looking for a good, well priced business class and rewards programme that makes sense.
I'm told the KLM business class is pretty good, but not sure about pricing, but have been warned about long waits in Amsterdam.
