You can use your ticket number on the MU website but be warned their English site is....special. Sometimes it works better to use the Chinese site with Google translate turned on and you can figure your way around that way.

It sure didn't for us in December- Looked good at time of booking but came back to a message saying cant reserve seats at this time- Went back and forth for months with a Tug of war not it situation with Delta/KLM. The codeshare between them is kind of a joke but after having nightmares of a cramped back row with our 5 year old and 26 hours of multiple flights we ended up with an entire row of 5 seats just between the three of us on both inbound/return legs.
Hmm...IME the KL integration is actually one of the better ones. And easy enough to use klm.us website to sort out/confirm everything directly.
