How "protected" is the connection? Obviously if your incoming flight is late then BA are on the hook, but there's always the possibility you could get stuck on the M25 for 3 hours or stuck on a train with a signal failure. If you turn up at LGW after screwing up a 5 hour connection, will they still re-accommodate you?
