An interesting detail of my recent LHR-EDI-LHR was that I did not have to show photo ID at any stage of either journey.

I used OLCI, then Self service check-in (hand baggage only), and was not asked for it when boarding the plane (I always get asked for it on international flights).

I thought Photo ID was a requirement for all flights, even internal ones? Obviously I had some form of ID as I put my BAEC card and credit card into the SS machine to get my BP, but no Photo ID as such.
