Got charged one Systemwide Upgrade for upgrade to Premium Economy
Is this a new policy? I got charged one Systemwide upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy on flight DFW-AMS a couple of days ago.
In fact, I thought I had been upgraded to Business since my boarding pass showed “Priority Business”. But when I got to the seat, it was Premium Economy.
Here is the reply I got from American Airlines:
“Mr. X, system-wide upgrades are applied to the next cabin of service. Premium Economy is the next cabin of service from Main Cabin. From my records it looks as though the upgrade was applied and deducted appropriately. “
I have been Executive Platinum for 11 years. After all the benefit devaluations through the years, this may be the last straw for me if that is indeed a new policy.
Anyone with this experience lately?
