Avis changed the terms of my rental 4 months after booking rental and 1 month before

Hello,

I booked a one way rental on the Avis website and I got a very good deal (ther was no mileage charge). I am in USA and this is for a rental in Canada.
The booking was done 5 months ago and today I just navigated to the Avis website to see the details and confirm that the reservation is there and noticed that Avis has now added a mileage charge (0.35 per mile).
My initial email clearly shows Unlimited Kms and I had also taken a print out on the Avis website where you can also see that there is no Km charge.
My rental starts in 1 month.
Can Avis make changes to a rental without informing the Customer? I have received no email from Avis stating this change. Also, can they even make this one sided change to a Rental Reservation agreement?
I am planning to take a print out and also show the email to the Avis Rep when I take the car, but what are my options if the Avis Car rep refuses to give me the car without the mileage charge? Note that this is for a Avis Rental in an Off Airport Location in Vancouver.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
