I'm trying to meet up with my friend during my SHORT 2 hr layover!

I'm leaving from T4, but they flying into T7 around that time with JFK as the final destination. I would like to see them in T4!
Will T4 security let them through? I know you can with a same-day departure boarding pass, but what about an arrival boarding pass where the final destination is JFK?
Could they use the excuse that they are trying to access the delta lounge or something like that?
