Just checked out from a weekend stay. It's a great hotel for S$160++ in Singapore. I last stayed a few years ago after the refurbishment of the old Riverview Hotel. They are maintaining it well and the room still felt clean and new. Minor upgrade to a river-view room (last time I got a suite). Late check out. Chose breakfast in the extensive buffet rather than 500 welcome points (no brainer). And the best thing that changed since my earlier stay: Platinums get two hours from 6pm-8pm in the bar with beer, wine and basic spirits with mixers. Given the high cost of alcohol in Singapore it's clearly a great benefit. With breakfast and two hours of alcohol, two people could get the room rate back on benefits alone. Not located on top of the MRT, it's about a 15-minute walk to Chinatown. You can also walk along the river to Clarke Quay in about the same time. Service was very friendly throughout from check in to check out. Breakfast buffet is surprisingly extensive and varied for a FP perhaps reflecting the varied population of Singapore and their different requirements for the first meal of the day.

It's not the St. Regis, There's no butler. The snacks with happy hour won't replace a meal. But I think it's a great hotel for the price in this expensive city. If it was more expensive then you would also consider the Sheraton and the Vagabond but at this price it definately wins. I'm back in August.
