Is this going to affect my bags being checked through to my final destination? Also, does this have any effect on when I need to be at the gate? I have a 2 hr connection but if there is any kind of delay I'm worried that I might miss the check in window. The app says that I'm not checked in (as opposed to being checked in with no BP)
Also I'm really curious to see where I am in the waiting compared to the checked in passengers... is there any way to see this?
There’s no way for you to check in for the second flight until you get to the airport, but you shouldn’t have to wait until FRA. The agent in HEL should be able to check you in for your second flight.
Also, once your HEL-FRA flight has “closed”, as in you are taxiing to the runway, you should be able to see the status and manage it on the United app, because the first segment will be inactive.
Your bags will checked through as well.
In short: don’t worry.
