I'm within the check-in time for my flight. However, when I checked into the first flight on my ticket (HEL-FRA operated by LH) it did not check me in for the next flight. I called UA and they said that I would have to get a BP at the gate in FRA (flying FRA-SFO)

Is this going to affect my bags being checked through to my final destination? Also, does this have any effect on when I need to be at the gate? I have a 2 hr connection but if there is any kind of delay I'm worried that I might miss the check in window. The app says that I'm not checked in (as opposed to being checked in with no BP)

Also I'm really curious to see where I am in the waiting compared to the checked in passengers... is there any way to see this?
