I always check senior rates but don’t often use them. Usually they apply to the lowest category rooms only and I frequently want an upgraded room. Being only a former Gold and now Platinum I rarely get a substantial upgrade- usually a better view only - but using the senior rate I have only ever gotten the exact room I booked. That’s my biggest issue with it.
