sometimes after check in at T2 the queues for security have been so long that i've walked to T1, gone through security and walked back and it was still probably quicker than waiting in the queue in T2.
Things will be slightly quicker now since they seem to be removing the travel agent/airport agent offices in the walkway from T2 to the station and making the passageway wider. One might hope for a moving walkway but I doubt it.
