Canyon Suites at the Phoenician: a much more intimate and exclusive experience

Introduction While staying at the Phoenician Residences, I had the opportunity to check out the Canyon Suites at the Phoenician. The Canyon Suites is a much smaller hotel within the larger almost 600 room Phoenician Resort--there are only 60 total rooms and suites. It is undoubtedly a much more exclusive and intimate experience than staying at the overall Phoenicial Resort. The Canyon Suites has its own separate area with its own lobby building and reception, its own breakfast/lounge that converts to a bar in the evenings, its own smaller pool area with bungalows, and its own spa/jacuzzi. All of those are entirely for the exclusive use of only Canyon Suites guests. Room I was shown a 2 bedroom suite despite the property being completely sold out. The second (double) bedroom is almost exactly like any other regular room at the Canyon Suites. There are pool view rooms/suites and canyon view rooms/suites.Suite entry:Suite living room:Suite dining area:Suite bedroom (built into the main room):Suite master bath:Suite balcony looking towards the pool:Hallway between main suite room and added second bedroom:Powder bath in the hallway:The second bedroom comparable to any regular room in the Canyon Suites:The bath looked exactly the same as the master bath (which also looked exactly the same as those in the regular Phoenician Resort). All in all, the room and suite were very spacious and to a very good standard. Personally, I'm not sure the difference in view is a major factor here unless you'd care to avoid any possible pool view noise. Service The service at the Canyon Suites was more personal. YOu Dining Breakfast is served in the main reception building reserved only for Canyon Suites guests. (I didn't ask for the Platinum benefit, sorry.) At night, that same area turns into a bar area and some treats are left for all guests, as well. Overall With the Phoenician Resort having almost 600 rooms/suites, the appeal of the more intimate Canyon Suites is obvious.
