An alternative you might consider is DL to DUB and then Ryanair or Aer Lingus to Edinburgh, which is only a short 1 hour flight. Ryanair and Aer Lingus compete on that route and fares are generally inexpensive (sometimes almost free from Ryanair). Probably less expensive than air or train from MAN or LGW.
