This is exactly the conclusion we came to with the above help. The extra half hour would more than be lost in packing and unpacking for a one night switch. Part of me gets (very) excited about checking out new hotels and new cities - but on this occasion, the right call feels like staying put and enjoying one of the best hotels in the world (by the sounds of it).
I’m beyond excited now - we’ve made zero plans yet in Tokyo and Kyoto (other than Narisawa and Miyaki confirmed) - but now that I have the travel arrangements and hotels fixed - I’m looking forward to getting that going!
Thanks again all, a real load off my mind.

Your problem with this plan is you’ve allocated three days in Kyoto, while one really needs several weeks. This is the lesson from my trip. Enjoy the hotel and the city, but expect to return. Kyoto is one city that truly merits a return visit.
