It may be a 20-30 min lounger commute from Kyoto than from Osaka in the overall scheme of things, which means little to me. The time you lose moving between the cities will be more even than different between them on the morning departure!
Also, while I really enjoyed the StR Osaka, the RC Kyoto is absolutely nicer.
This is exactly the conclusion we came to with the above help. The extra half hour would more than be lost in packing and unpacking for a one night switch. Part of me gets (very) excited about checking out new hotels and new cities - but on this occasion, the right call feels like staying put and enjoying one of the best hotels in the world (by the sounds of it).
I’m beyond excited now - we’ve made zero plans yet in Tokyo and Kyoto (other than Narisawa and Miyaki confirmed) - but now that I have the travel arrangements and hotels fixed - I’m looking forward to getting that going!
