We as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) planned to go to Chennai, India from Hong Kong together (award reservation using Asia miles). Now due to a family emergency, just my wife and kids are leaving earlier (tomorrow) using BA miles. I am planning to join my family in 2 weeks with the original reservation, that was booked for all 4 of us. What should I do with the original reservation? Should I call Cathay to cancel the 3 tickets or should I travel by myself with 3 empty seats? If I travel with 3 seats, will there be any penalty?
My reason was mainly because of the change fee/cancellation fee involved? And also the Asiamiles will anyway is expiring soon.
