A transfer time of an hour is perfectly fine at LHR (as long as you're transferring within T5) and also for connections within the US. As you're on one ticket, you'll be protected for misconnects and booked on the next flight if necessary.

If the one hour transfer is at your point of entry into the US, or if you have to transfer between T5 and T3, then that is not nearly enough time and you should reconsider your itinerary.
