The Doubletree Suites is also nice. It's a little further away so not quite as walkable. However, the ART shuttle bus stops right in front of the hotel. As the name implies, most of the rooms are suites so you'll be able to have some separation at bedtime. I believe there's a mini-fridge, but I can't remember if there's a microwave. I've stayed here, also with a 3 year old (at the time) and it was fine. If you have a stroller, then the Homewood may be better if you want to save the shuttle fare. If no stroller, then the ART which also stops near the Homewood, will be good for little legs. HH Gold breakfast at the hotel consisted of the full buffet when I was there last. Since you're only there for one night, I don't think you can go wrong either way.
