when I order pizza I'm asked to contribute 1p as well. And pizza is more expensive that a cup of coffee so it makes the 'donation' an even smaller % of the cost of the pizza.

In that comparison BA is positively generous!

And if it was more I know some people would actually complain that they were being over charged by a compulsory 'donation' that as the purchaser they get no credit for.
