I checked out of a Hampton Inn a couple of years ago, and about two blocks away I realized I did not have a ring on. It was an old 18K gold ring w/light blue stones that my mom gave me. I immediately returned to the hotel room and saw a woman removing sheets in my vacated room. I asked her if she saw a ring. She said no. I searched around and did not find it. She agreed to call another person in housekeeping. I heard her ask if a ring with blue diamonds was found. The suspicious part is that I never told her about any stones in the ring. I wanted to search her but realized she'd probably scream or accuse me of assault/battery. I went to the front desk and asked to be notified if this ring was found. I strongly suspect the item was pocketed by staff. And I did leave tips! Didn't think I could do anything else except never stay there again.
