The dash 8 has an inherent lack of good ventilation and in the winter they heat up the back to around 80F so the pilots in front don't freeze during flts.
Try sitting in 1B at 6:30 am in February.Hopefully there are not operational problems where they wait (and passengers) with entry way open.It was darn cold that day(-30C)
