I have a free certificate from last year, which is valid from June 2018-June 2019. When it was deposited a year ago, the terms and conditions stated that the night must be booked within that year (and consumed afterwards was fine - I`ve had a few of such certificates before with booking dates falling within that period and consumed a few months later.).

I checked the availability for a night I was interested in the end of May for November stay, and that Chase night was available. However, when I went to book it online today, I could not do that despite nights for points were available. I went to terms and conditions just to see that it changed! Now the booking and consumption of old certificates have been changed! We were informed about new ones capped at 40K points, etc, but changing terms of the existing certificates is a total scam.

Called IHG, and of course, no resolution even from a manager.
