Don't most mileage programs specifically state that award miles have "no cash value" or something similar, typically accompanying language that it cannot be bartered, traded, sold, etc.? I'd be shocked if LH didn't have that language. Although if this customer wins, it would probably mean the end of mileage and points since no company would want to pay cash equivalent to its members.
