You can't upgrade from economy HBO to economy plus... I learnt the hard way. You gotta cancel the booking and remake it (if in 24 hours). I made the same mistake as you, thinking we only wanted one checked bag and it would be cheaper to just buy a bag.. Ironically it cost is £20 more to fly with 1 bag than if we purchased plus and had 4....
