ScottC told me two things in reply to my question:

1. Talk Board does not have responsibility for moderators.

2. I can find out what Talk Board does on Town Hall.

As far as I can see there, in the 14 months since I have been on Flyer Talk, Talk Board made two decisions, establishing the Disability and Emirates forums. It may also have rejected some forums, but I can't tell because there are no dates for those votes shown.

(I also know that it elected a president for itself, but that is not shown there.)

Apparently, Talk Board does not do a lot. That is not a criticism, simply an observation. I don't know why it does not -- maybe Randy does not give it very much latitude, maybe it has no interest in doing other things, maybe there is nothing else that needs to be done.

What makes me confused about the whole thing is why a board which is not very active:

1. Had a hotly contested election. (Seriously, why would anybody care who is or is not on a board with such little activity?)

2. Why is there such controversy about it in this thread? Usually, such strong feelings are engendered by much more zealous organizations.

There may well be something below ground which I am not seeing. At the risk of opening old wounds, would somebody please let me know what it is all about? (You can write to me at [email protected] if you prefer not discussing in in an open forum.)

Thanks.

The only inaccuracy here is that I believe there are 9 members, not 12.
